CRETA Group Contributes to the First Global Energy Efficiency Alliance Technical and Executive Roundtable

CRETA Group participated in the first Technical and Executive Roundtable of the Global Energy Efficiency Alliance (GEEA), an international initiative led by the United Arab Emirates, and convened by the UAE Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure during Middle East Energy 2026.
Chaired by H.E. Eng. Sharif Al Olama, Undersecretary for Energy and Petroleum Affairs at the UAE Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, the roundtable brought together senior government officials, private-sector leaders, technology providers and financial institutions around a shared objective: accelerating the transition from energy-efficiency commitments to implementation and measurable results.

CRETA Group was represented by Dr. Moutaz Alriahy, CEO of CRETA Group, who contributed to the discussions by sharing the company’s experience and perspective on energy efficiency, with particular emphasis on the role of geothermal energy and innovative thermal solutions in reducing energy demand and improving the efficiency of cooling and heating applications.
The contribution drew on CRETA Group’s experience in developing and advancing geothermal solutions across different operating environments, as well as its ongoing work to adapt and deploy these technologies under the climatic and operational conditions of the Middle East.

From Commitments to Implementation
Held under the theme “Moving Energy Efficiency from Commitments to Implementation,” the roundtable focused on the practical mechanisms required to translate energy-efficiency ambitions and policies into deployable and scalable projects.
Discussions addressed innovative technologies, pilot projects, technology validation, financing mechanisms and new models of cooperation between governments, industry, technology providers and financial institutions.
Participants also explored opportunities to test technologies under different operating conditions, assess their feasibility, develop joint pilot projects and establish partnerships capable of moving promising solutions from evaluation and demonstration toward wider implementation.
This implementation-driven approach closely aligns with CRETA Group’s work: developing sustainable energy solutions around real-world performance, measurable outcomes and scalability.
A UAE-Led Platform for Global Energy Efficiency
Led by the United Arab Emirates through the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, the Global Energy Efficiency Alliance aims to bridge the gap between international commitments and practical implementation.
The Alliance brings together governments, industry, financial institutions, technology providers, international organizations and academia, creating a collaborative framework to advance policy, technical cooperation, capacity building, technology partnerships and investment.
By connecting countries seeking effective energy-efficiency solutions with the technologies, expertise and financing required to implement them, the UAE-led Alliance represents an important step toward translating global energy-efficiency ambitions into projects, partnerships and measurable outcomes.
